We needed a quick lunch today and decided to try Midway Grille for the first time. The service was excellent and the food pretty good! We tried the patty melt, reubens, and cheese fries. We were all ravenous when we arrived so I think we wiped this out in ten minutes. The cheese fries were excellent. Reuben was good, not a lot of meat, but plenty of kraut. Patty melt is your regular cookie cutter patty but the onions and grilled bread made it delish! I was sold on them when I saw their health score and it is comforting that they take pride in maintaining a clean kitchen. We will definitely be back.
Tucked into the Lowe's Food shopping center at the intersection of Midway and 211 in Bolivia, this underrated gem is tops with locals from nearby neighborhoods. Lunching with some of those local regulars, it was apparent why they love Midway Grille so much. Service is warm and personal, and during my visit, flexible, as they worked to accommodate our ever-expanding party by manipulating extra tables and chairs in the small indoor space. The food is a cut above the standard "Grille" fare, and while there aren't too many gluten free options, the spinach salad with house made vinaigrette was fresh and delicious and completely devoured. Other crowd favorites were the Reuben and the grilled meatloaf sandwich. Onion rings and sweet potato fries were clear winners in the sides department.
We found this restaurant as we were arriving in Oak Island. Came here on a Thursday afternoon and were seated right away even though it was busy. The place is clean with friendly service. I ordered shrimp scampi and it was fresh and not too oily. Portions are good and prices are reasonable. My husband's burger was huge! Meatloaf is all angus beef and was flavorful. Will be back when we're in town again!

My favorites here are the grilled meatloaf sandwich and the smoked, pulled beef brisket. Add the sweet potato fries for a $2 upcharge that is totally worth it. The sandwiches are generous - I typically take half home for later. The cost is very reasonable for the quality and quantity. Service is uniformly excellent. Entrees and starters are also available and the beer and wine selections complement the food.
